The Saloni will be back, breathing new life into the Milan Fairgrounds, Rho from Tuesday 9th to Sunday
14th April. The motto for this 52nd edition is innovation: thousands of home furnishing, lighting and office
products will be showcased for the very first time. Another new twist is being introduced this year by
the arrangement between Cosmit and the Municipality of Milan giving free public access to all
the city museums.
Over 2,500 exhibitors ranged on 204,850 square metres will take part in the 52nd edition of the Salone
Internazionale del Mobile, the International Furnishing Accessories Exhibition, the biennial Euroluce
and SaloneUfficio exhibitions, and SaloneSatellite.
The Saloni 2013, open to sectorial operators from 9.30am to 6.30pm each day and to the public
on Saturday and Sunday, is the acknowledged exclusive showcase for the latest in furnishing, lighting
and office furniture, with a vast panoply of top quality products responding to the ever-increasing interest
in the Saloni shown by operators, journalists and members of the public.
The Saloni is the only trade fair that attracts over 300,000 visitors, from 160 different countries.

miart 2013, organized by Fiera Milano and directed by Vincenzo de Bellis,

presents – from 5 to 7 April – 137 Italian and foreign galleries in pavilion 3 of

fieramilanocity. The fair is organized in 4 sections: Established and Emergent –

reprised from the last editions, but revised in terms of the criteria for participation –

and the new THENnow and Object sections. This 18th edition finally makes

miart one of the leading European contemporary art events, because 40% of the

exhibitors come from 15 foreign countries, and half of them are participating

in miart for the first time.

Every year since 1955, an independent jury of experts, chosen among renewed international personalities, is called to express itself on thousands photos that are submitted to World Press Photo Foundation in Amsterdam by photojournalists, agencies, magazines and newspapers.

World Press Photo Contest is one of the most important prizes for photojournalism:

it is a unique occasion to review and discover the most beautiful and significant images that have documented and illustrated facts and events on international magazines and newspapers.

World Press Photo is not just an exhibition of beautiful images: more, it is a historic document that let the viewer go through crucial moments of our times.

The international fame of World Press Photo and the hundreds of thousands visitors that attend the exhibition every year, testify the power of image to transcend cultural and linguistic differences and reach a consistent and immediate level of communication. The exhibition presents the prizewinning photographs for each of the ten categories and travels worldwide to important museums and galleries; the only condition to be respected is to show every photo of the show without any form of censorship.

In order to guarantee this, a representative of World Press Photo is in charge of supervising and directing the installation of the exhibition.
