Abat Jour was created by the contribution of the creative flower designer Giuliano Cairoli, artist and important nightlife icon, and Ornella Bonante, an unconventional creative and dj. Nothing new, just something UNIQUE. It is not chic, not alternative. It is EVERYTHING and NOTHING.

Friday 17th May — STRAF in Black

The Friday aperitif at the BAR STRAF is «in black», with black sounds’ to 360 degrees, from soul to disco, from R&B to funk, not forgetting the rhythms of the best House Music inspired by the classic gospel tradition.The creator and protagonist of the evening is Alex De Ponti, DJ active in the Milan scene for several years, also known for his music store, “Vinylbrokers”, a reference point for all vinyl lovers.

Alex shares the stage of this Friday night with Paolo Rey, his partner in Vinylbrokers and a great connoisseur of black music, armed with a twenty-year background as a DJ and dealer of discs.

The common denominator of the evening is black music without any restrictions, from the atmosphere more soft of the soul to the rhythms of the more vibrant funk and house music, free to roam the great classics of the seventies up to the new proposals of the current scene.

All proposed in the frame of the STRAF, the most famous street bar in the center, literally in the shadow the Duomo.

The 2013 Salone del Mobile

The Saloni will be back, breathing new life into the Milan Fairgrounds, Rho from Tuesday 9th to Sunday
14th April. The motto for this 52nd edition is innovation: thousands of home furnishing, lighting and office
products will be showcased for the very first time. Another new twist is being introduced this year by
the arrangement between Cosmit and the Municipality of Milan giving free public access to all
the city museums.
Over 2,500 exhibitors ranged on 204,850 square metres will take part in the 52nd edition of the Salone
Internazionale del Mobile, the International Furnishing Accessories Exhibition, the biennial Euroluce
and SaloneUfficio exhibitions, and SaloneSatellite.
The Saloni 2013, open to sectorial operators from 9.30am to 6.30pm each day and to the public
on Saturday and Sunday, is the acknowledged exclusive showcase for the latest in furnishing, lighting
and office furniture, with a vast panoply of top quality products responding to the ever-increasing interest
in the Saloni shown by operators, journalists and members of the public.
The Saloni is the only trade fair that attracts over 300,000 visitors, from 160 different countries.

miart 2013, organized by Fiera Milano and directed by Vincenzo de Bellis,

presents – from 5 to 7 April – 137 Italian and foreign galleries in pavilion 3 of

fieramilanocity. The fair is organized in 4 sections: Established and Emergent –

reprised from the last editions, but revised in terms of the criteria for participation –

and the new THENnow and Object sections. This 18th edition finally makes

miart one of the leading European contemporary art events, because 40% of the

exhibitors come from 15 foreign countries, and half of them are participating

in miart for the first time.
